The United States Department of State has introduced a new regulation governing student exchange which will require all sponsoring organizations to conduct criminal background checks on all potential host families and family members over the age of 16.

The implementation date for this regulation has not yet been determined, but there apparently isn't any doubt that it will be in force within the next year.  Because Host Families are the backbone of our organization, we would appreciate your taking a few minutes to respond to this survey.

  1. Please enter today's date :

    -- mm/dd/yy

  2. How many times have you been a host family for iE-USA or any other organization?

  3. What are your feelings about the proposed mandatory background checks?

Good idea to provide protection for kids and families
An idea that needs further discussion
A nuisance for families, but they'll do it
Will discourage people from being host families
A feel good idea that won't really help much

  4. What would be your personal reaction if asked to submit to a background check in order to host again?

    I would gladly do it.
I would have to think about it.
It's too much trouble. I'd forget about hosting.

  5. Please provide us with any other thoughts or information which you feel might be helpful for us to have as we work to incorporate this new requirement into our program.

  6. Providing us with the following contact information is optional.
